How To Stop Caring What Others Think About You

Are you competing with others? Your co-workers, other bloggers, your spouse or is it your neighbors? If you feel that you are competing with anyone, stop yourself. Enjoy what you are doing, enjoy your success. I bet you’ve heard this before; it’s about the journey, not the destination. Dwell on that phrase because it’s true.

I own it. I’m very competitive, but I have learned to play the game of life without competing. I only compete when I play a sport. And if you know me well, I haven’t played a game in a long time. Therefore, I am not competing. My game of life consists of choosing my thoughts, actions, and outcomes. I am entirely responsible. It sounds like one huge cliché, but that’s exactly how I feel. And it feels good.

The main reason you are competing is that you care what others think about you. If I may say, “Stop it.” It’s not healthy, and it’s not necessary. Below I will share with you how to stop caring.

Step 1 - Positive mindset

The mind is powerful. You have the ability to control your thoughts, but it’s not easy. First, you must have to be aware of the type of thoughts you are having. Second, take baby steps on correcting your thoughts with more positive outcomes. Start small, and do it every day for thirty days. Write your desired results in your journal and focus your mind on what is pleasant. Remember, you can’t be vibrating positive while in a negative state of mind. The good news is that you are in control. It is a powerful feeling to feel the negativity dissipate.

Step 2 - Be humble

Humility is also powerful. When you start to concentrate on other people’s strengths and abilities you will learn and grow. How do you define humility? Starting today, notice how often you regard others. Find the ideal in all that surrounds you. In humility you will find success.

Step 3 - Enjoy your task

It’s difficult to stay on track if you are not enjoying what you are doing. If you can’t leave your current situation, then you must enjoy what you are doing. Before going into work, cleaning your house, picking up after everyone, meditate. It doesn’t have to be an hour or half an hour. Just do some breathing exercises before you start and visualize yourself enjoying the work. Be aware of your thoughts. Repeat step 1.

Step 4 - Be confident

You are important. Stand tall, smile, and repeat to yourself “I AM confident.” Before the meeting, take deep breaths and tell yourself how good you are. Take the responsibility into your hands and notice a shift. Remember, confidence is a tool that we need to sharpen to conquer our fears, insecurities, and doubts. The good news, you are in control. Step 5 - Don’t compare

There is no need to compare yourself to others. You have something good to share, give and learn. Always take the time to acknowledge your wins and learn from your losses. Find that one skill that will break the walls that surround you.

In summary, it’s all a mindset. Once you conquer your mind, you will find the freedom from within. Have a fantastic week.

Much Love,
