How To Add A Meditation Practice To Your Daily Routine


Can you imagine a time when you were genuinely curious about meditation? I always ask myself, why do some people meditate, and some don’t. It became clear to me that it’s true, everybody is different. I’ve been studying meditation practice for many years, but for the last six years, I have practiced, researched, and discovered the true meaning of meditation.

If You are struggling with starting your new meditation routine, keep on reading you’re about to be amazed.

It all starts with a desire, once you know that you are willing to give it a chance, that’s all you need. Then what you need is to start small, start with an intention, and focus on that intention.

Remember that in the beginning, it will feel uncomfortable, you will become anxious, and you might even want to postpone your first session, that is ok, that’s normal. That is your signal to push forward to give it an opportunity.

Steps to get you started:

  1. Commit to an amount of time that works for you

  2. Time your session

  3. Find the time of day that works for you Morning, Afternoon or Evening

  4. Choose a trigger something you do every day (Shower, Lunch Hour, your favorite chair)

Keep in mind that it takes 21 days to create a habit.

Tips on creating your Meditation Habit

  1. Find a quiet spot (no distraction, it doesn’t matter where long as you don’t get distracted)

  2. Sit Comfortably - whatever comfort looks like for you ( in the beginning, try not to lay down as your body might want to fall asleep, your goal is to learn how to relax your mind, not fall asleep.

  3. Start small, 2 minutes is an excellent start to any new habit or routine. It’s enough to get you to do the practice and build some consistency. Use a timer.

  4. Find guided meditations, I like the ones that work on focusing on your breath, but any guided meditation works.
